The Hammer and Sky Work Exchange Program

Are you skilled and interested to stay on beautiful Brier Island at the Hammer and Sky Residency at no charge in exchange for 24 hrs work per week?

If you’d like to be considered for a work-exchange program, please send your name, contact information and what you can do to: brierislandchurch@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you to arrange a video-call so that we can get to know each other and see what’s possible based on your set of skills. Note that we schedule projects at different times of the year and we may only notify candidates a few weeks before the beginning of a project. We supply all the tools and materials.

What we need: Painting, gardening, basic construction, general maintenance, trail maintenance, website and social media work, cooking/baking etc.

Timing: To be determined. Minimum 1 week commitment.

What we offer:  Stay in the Buckman House Artist Residence for up to 14 days: You get one bedroom with 2 single beds and a private bathroom.  The Buckman House is a restored , shared accommodation house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room and woodstove. You may bring a companion for an extra $250 per week.

Your commitment: 24 hrs of work per week.
